We are ingrained with the notion that breakfast, lunch, and dinner must be consumed everyday whether or not we are hungry for them. Who created the arbitrary 3 meal rule? One thing I fear is regimental eating; When you eat on a schedule, you're eating not because your body is actually hungry but because your schedule is telling you to and that's never good. Your body will alert you when it is hungry. It will, no need to worry. Even if you go an entire day without eating, (which is possible), don't sweat the dreaded "starvation mode". This is over-hyped as the literature shows even after 4 days with no food and only water, the average metabolism increased by 14%! In order to enter into a "starvation mode", we are talking weeks of extreme caloric deficiency to achieve this. Intermittent fasting has actually shown to be highly beneficial for immune function so no need to eat if you aren't hungry! Your body is telling you what it wants, it's your job to listen!
