Have you ever wondered how much we use our phones? Whether sending emails or checking social media, it's 5.5 hours each and every day. What if you went to the gym for 5.5 hours each day...imagine how much your body would change?! Looking down has the same effect...although not from a good stand point!
The reason: The position of your head greatly influences the stress that gets applied to the neck. Our heads weigh 10 pounds however the position of our head can make it feel 30, 40 or even 50+ pounds! The neck (cervical spine) is suppose to be curved like a shallow letter "C"; Over the long-term this amount of looking down has shown to straighten-out the cervical spine. Is this a big deal? Just imagine how much differently an arrow would fire if you straightened out the bow? A straightening out of the cervical spine can eventually lead to disc and nerve issues, muscle spasm, neck and shoulder pain and even headaches. With adjustments, muscle work and exercises, it's possible to fix this lack of a curve and the symptoms that come along with it!
